We are so pleased to have chosen 3 great charities within Pembrokeshire. Choosing the following meant that all types of charities, ages, illness's can be touched and we felt that a diverse amount of Pembrokeshire people will be helped by The Pembrokeshire Charity Bike Ride in 2011. Please take time to read the worthiness of these fantastic charities and please take part and raise money to help these charities progress, develop and maintain the terrific work they do within Pembrokeshire

Motor Neurone Disease (Pembrokeshire)

Many locals will know Kanga who a very popular guy from Haverfordwest … Unfortunately Kanga was lost his battle to this illness in 2010. Kanga was a very popular local guy that was committed to his family, friends and sport (in particular Rugby) throughout Pembrokeshire. To celebrate Kanga’s continued support in everything he was involved in, The Pembrokeshire Charity Bike Ride would like to give something back in honour of Kanga … we feel that this charity is well deserved and do great work locally in Pembrokeshire of sufferers of Motor Neurone Disease

Wings Over Pembrokeshire

This is a small group that run music workshops for children and adults that have disabilities within Pembrokeshire. Wings Over Pembrokeshire have formed their own band and practise every week and perform regularly. The group create development within music and self confidence and the monies will go to growing and developing the group, purchasing instruments and equipment. WINGS stands for ‘With Inclusion No one Gets Sidelined

Thorne Mason Trust

This charity is dedicated to a very well known character who lost his fight to cancer in 2009. The trust is dedicated to Mike Mason and is a complimentary cancer support charity. Many sufferers and their families benefit from their service and support but their main long term aim is to have their own full time cancer support unit similar to that in Bristol (Penny Brohn centre) and Maggies who have many support units around the country. As well as this the trust also funds brain tumour research which is what Mike suffered from up to when he passed away.
