History

In 2001, Phil & Tim Hughes were approached by their mother to raise funds for Shalom Home in St Davids... they got together with Mark Rendell of Mike's Bikes and some other cycling friends and raised £1080.

Due to this small event being such a success they both decided to stage the event again and it grew with the participation of more cyclists in 2002 and the event raised over £3000

From this, the event has become a firm date in the Pembrokeshire calendar and to date (after 9 years) the Pembrokeshire Charity Bike Ride has raised £85,000 for local charities including Paul Sartori, Ward 10, Pembrokeshire Puffins, SNAP, HOPE, Shalom House and many many more.

It is within the constitution that the monies raised stay in Pembrokeshire and this is an event that is community based from the people of Pembrokeshire for the charities in Pembrokeshire.

To celebrate its 10th year two of the committee members (Tim Hughes & Nigel Flower) have organised a sub-event of which they will join 6 other local lads and climb Kilimanjaro … This will make the 10th years a very special year for the bike ride and we hope you will be there to help us raise money and also celebrate its 10th year.
